Classic Car Images Classic Chevy Bel Air

Just some fun photos of restored classic cars I found while wondering around on the web. The owners appear to have some fun fixing these classics up. Hope you enjoy...:-)

For car lovers like me, a look back in history always means going face to face with the classic cars that will forever be part of American auto history. When talking about classic American cars, it is hard not to think about the timeless beauty that is the Chevrolet Bel Air. Even if these classic cars are not equipped with a Chevy catalytic converter, it is hard not to like them.

The Bel Air is introduced by General Motors in 1953 as a part of the premium model range. Looking at the exterior design of the Bel Air shows why the American car manufacturer put the Bel Air on top of its lineup. A classic example of the good looks of the Bel Air is the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door sedan with its white roof, aggressive grille styling and complete with whitewall tires. Even if its safety feature is composed only of its brakes, the Bel Air does not lose any of its appeal.

In fact, even the minute details of the Bel Air gives this car a reputation of being an instant classic. From the ergonomically designed Chevy door handle to the headlights, the Bel Air is truly a car that stands out among the classics. While the Bel Air was demoted to becoming a low level model of Chevrolet, it cannot be denied that the iconic Bel Air is a great step in the progress of the American car industry.

In more recent times, the Bel Air made an appearance at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) as a concept car. The concept Bel Air for the new millennium is a convertible and carries many design and styling cues from the classic Bel Air. Unfortunately though, General Motors looks as if it is not going to release any production version of the concept Bel Air.
