Vauxhall’s innovative new EcoFlex range has just been rewarded with a Fleet Award from leading title, Fleet World.

The annual awards recognised that Vauxhall’s advanced technology significantly helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Vauxhall’s new Insignia has also been recognised this year by winning European Car of the Year 2009.

Green cars seem to be growing in popularity lately as people learn more aboout the positive effects they can have on the environment. Of course, an added bonus of buying a ‘green’ car is that you will save money in terms of running costs in the long run.

Greener cars use up less fuel – which saves you more money at the pumps, but they also save you money when it comes to road tax. The governmetns latest scheme organises road tax bands according to emissions. A car that falls into tax band B can cost as little as £35 to tax for a year – whereas one with really bad emissions can cost up to £400+.

The new Vauxhall Astra EcoFlex is one such car – at a cost of just £35 for one year’s tax, it’s not surprising Vauxhall are being recognised for providing efficient vehicles at affordable prices.
